"If you want to understand democracy, spend less time in the library with Plato, and more time in the buses with people." - Simeon Strunsky
This quote makes me think of my Grandpa Arthur. He was a federal judge who lived to be 97 years old. He used to read (on occasion) gossip mags (or rags) like Cosmo, People, or US Weekly to keep up with the "public" and make sure he wasn't passing judgment from an out-of-touch, esoteric place. I'm probably not doing him justice (pun!) by relating it this way...
So, I had a little shindig at my place this past weekend and those of us who read this drivel were called out as Jake and Vienna battled on the Bachelorette on the TV in the background. I defend my occasional dance with this junk for just expressly this reason! Oh, and viva la jail time for Lindsay Lohan. That woman could use a little law in her life.
